IIRAH SPRING 2023 FORUM: The IIRAH Spring 2023 Forum is Tuesday, April 18, 7:00 – 8:30 pm. The topic is Strengthening Local Food Systems. The Forum is free and open to everyone. We have an exciting lineup of speakers and hope to see you there!
IDAHO 2023 LEGISLATIVE SESSION: The Idaho Legislature adjourned on April 6th, 2023. There were two BIG WINS! The Idaho Asset Building Network reported on the following housing policies that will help keep those in need as these new laws are implemented:
- Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Funds Will Ensure Renters Stay Housed. House Bill 324 authorizes $32 million in federal emergency funds for Idaho renters. This program has prevented eviction for 26,000 Idaho households since spring of 2021. Read an analysis on how ERA can be and has been used across the state.
- Progress Towards Promoting Housing Stability. Bipartisan Senate Bill 1039 requires residential landlords to enumerate all rental-related fees in written rental agreements, give 30 days’ notice for any fee changes, and ensure that all of those charges are reasonable.
