Child Nutrition Act

The Reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act is coming up for the U.S. Congress this spring.   This Reauthorization only happens every five years and looks at the  a programs like School lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service problems, Child and Adult Care Food Program and WIC (the Special Suppliemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children).

IIRAH has helped with local Congressional staff meetings sharing the importance of these programs.  One site visit to a School lunch program with local Congressional staff members.

Encouraging your letter writings to our Congressional members urging their support of effective funding for these programs.  IIRAH is also encouraging that this reauthorization of the Chid Nutrition Act be focused on Access, Nutrition and Steamlining of these programs.
