IIRAH Spring 2024 Forum: Join us for Many Needs, One Idaho: Addressing Urban and Rural Hunger in the Gem State, on Thursday, April 25, 7-9 PM, in-person at Boise State University or virtually via Zoom.
Summer-EBT—Multiple IIRAH Editorials: IIRAH’s been vocal about the urgency of the Idaho legislator to provide funding for our kids to eat this summer. A Guest Commentary, written by three dietitians, explained the food insecurity-obesity paradox. Two editorials offered a passionate please for funding.
CNBC Article Explains Why Healthy Foods are More Expensive: “One piece of British research in 2023, the Broken Plate report by The Food Foundation, found that healthy food is usually twice as expensive as less healthy food, on a per calorie basis.”
IIRAH Joined Other Organizations Advocating for Congressional Action:
- Child Tax Credit: IIRAH joined faith organizations, social welfare organizations, and others advoking organizations in asking Senator Crapo to commit to expanding the Child Tax Credit by making it fully available to low- and middle-income families.
- Bipartisan FY24 Senate Funding: We also partnered with 1,098 organizations urging Congress to reject a full-year CR that would cut essential Idaho programs and adopt the bipartisan Senate funding framework for FY24.

Research Links Housing Insecurity with Aging Process: A study conducted in the UK found that, compared with the other social determinants of health, the stress of housing problems has a significant negative impact on aging.
